Well what a week it has been! With NFT nyc seeing a focus on digital art, let’s take a look at some of the highlights.
Cozomo de'Medici continues to lead the way bringing digital art to the masses with his phenomenal Time Square exhibition!!
Some of the highlights…
Dimitri Cherniak - Ringers #953
Sam Spratt - Skulls of Luci
Babylon x NYC
It was a pleasure to be invited to the opening night of P_azuro’s Babylon exhibition, this featured some of his own personal collection including magnificent examples of Tyler Hobbs Fidenza’s and work by A-Mashiro. Its clear to see this collector has so much passion for digital art and is working hard to develop a successful market place of editions, an often over looked part of collecting digital art.
Canal Street Show
One of the finest events held was at this wonderful art studio of both physical work and digital work. Some of the extremely talented artists being represented were CMPLX, Efdot and Ben Bank to name but a few!!
NFT nyc Conference
It was a pleasure to talk at this years event, I focused on artists struggling to navigate the digital art space and the pressures put upon them.
Closing thoughts
Having attended last years NFT nyc and this years it’s clear to see the differences. Last year was defiantly more PFP based with Apefest etc taking centre stage.
This years with the general market conditions and sentiment a lot lower saw a reduction is PFP involvement, this however allowed art to flourish.
Ever since entering this space in 2020 it has always been my opinion that digital art will be a thriving success, yes there will be ups and downs as its still very early days but in 10 years from now we will look back on this time as the beginning of a new art renaissance.
I would like to leave you with this as a final thought…
I visited MoMA and only two pieces garnered a large crowd, one was Vincent Van Gogh’s The Starry Night….
And the other was Refik Anadol’s unsupervised. Let that sink in for a moment…
